I have read not to massage a certain part of your achilles tendon as it could cause contractions, but that would only be in your 3rd trimester right? IS it Safe to have a pedicure with a foot massage in your first trimester?

It is very dangerous to get a pedicure at any stage in pregnancy. Rubbing the tendon, especially where it connects to the heel bone, causes a rupturing of the uterus. This is far more serious than simply inducing labor, though labor is not necessary uncommon either.





It's a hormonal issue, so don't think that right after giving birth you're ok to get a pedicure OR any kind of foot massage. I usually recommend women wait 1-2 menstrual cycles after birth before they return to their normal foot-grooming habits.
