Are pedicures safe when you are in the first trimester?

I just found out I am pregnant and am in need of a pedicure. Have there been any warnings regarding nail polish and pregnancy?Are pedicures safe when you are in the first trimester?
no! And if there was wouldn't you think ther'd be a warning label on the bottle like everything else in the world? I think while you are pregnant it's wonderful to pamper yourself a little! Go for it!Are pedicures safe when you are in the first trimester?
sit as close to a ventalation system as possible, make sure they use clean tools or bring your own for them to use. relax and let them know your pregnant. (there are some massages that they say don't do around your ankles while pregnant)
the fumes from the nail polish can harm the baby.
The question is not whether it is safe when you are pregnant, but the real question is whether it is safe at all! If you are not doing it yourself, you have to be 100% sure that the equipment is sterile because I've seen some people get some very serious infections this way. I am 31 weeks pregnant and have been getting my nails done my entire pregnancy. My only advice to you is to try to sit near the door or somewhere that is well ventilated...the fumes can get pretty strong...otherwise go for it!

Unless you have a friend who will come to your home and give you a pedicure - I would stay away from them. You never know how clean those places are or are not.

No - pamper yourself and enjoy. There are no warnings about nail polish at all - if it is somewhere that isn't well ventilated and it reeks of nail polish remover, then you may feel ill or dizzy, but most places are fine. Trust your instincts.
